This Historical Reenacting item is from a smoke-free home and smoke-free environment.  Very well taken care of and from a personal collection of historical re-enacting uniforms and costumes.  

Ready to wear for your Regency to the Presidency of Andrew Jackson! This is an absolutely outstanding reproduction of an early 19th century (1810s - 1830s era) Civilian Man's Double-Breasted, higher lapel, higher collar Tail Coat / Frock Coat.

With two working exterior lower pockets - also with matching, small same fabric-covered Buttons down the front (see photos) and correctly patterned narrow-cut, longer period sleeves (more accurate reproduction than most you will find).  No, this does not (and should not) fit like a modern coat in your closet.

This is tailored nicely for the Early19th century. Body and tails / interior is lined in black polished cotton - much like originals.  Also includes a pocket inside the left front of the coat - the collar and chest are also nicely stitched and quilted - correctly - to give a good fit.  See the photos. 

Images of the Vest being worn under the coat are for illustrative purposes only, so you can see what it would look like being worn with a Vest - and I have those vests in the same wool listed here on eBay!  This is for the coat only - no breeches, no vest, no shirt.

Indeed, this exact same tail coat can be found from highly reputable 19th Century Sutlers for nearly $250!  Trying to offer a good deal here.

Can't be beat for the price.  Never worn and new.  Please take your own accurate measurements with a tape measure and don't use modern clothing sizes to find the right coat for you.

SIZE is tagged as a 40" chest and it fits snggly (as it should!) when being worn with a matching period vest.  Made of a beautiful rich Dark Grey Wool.
