Antique Hand-Woven Tribal Reversible Kilim Rug Saddle Blanket Indigo Blue
Doves and pigeons both are known to mate with one partner for life.
Because of this monogamous relationship, they have come to be known as a symbol of love in many Native American cultures.
Tribes such as the Aztecs and Mexican Indian tribes associated the dove with their goddess of fertility, Xochiquetzal, and the image was often used on wedding decorations.
The Blackfeet tribe equated the dove with protection during times of war and safe return for the men.

WHAT ARE HAND-WOVEN RUGS?
A Hand-Woven rug can also be called a Kilim, or Flatweave and it uses what is called a "Slit-weave" technique. The Slit-weave technique uses only a warp yarn as the foundation, allowing the weaver to build the rug by interlacing the yarn, as the weft.
To avoid long vertical slits that can make a Hand-Woven rug not durable, most Kilim rugs are created with diagonal or horizontal patterns. This is why it's very common to see octagons, diamonds and triangular shapes in a Flatweave rug.
WHAT MAKES A HAND-WOVEN RUG SO INTERESTING?
Most Hand-Woven rugs are reversible.
Hand-Woven rugs are built with natural fibers, such as Wool, Cotton, and sometimes Sari-Silk can be added.
Hand-Woven Rugs don't shred. (Machine-made rugs use synthetic fibers, that constantly shred.
