A pierrot whispering in the ear of a girl, symbolising the act of temptation The print sheet is accompanied by twelve prints from the series Temptation with the same theme, which represent the work of Vladimír Suchánek.
Vladimír Suchánek was born on 12 February 1933 in Nové Město nad Metují. He studied at the Faculty of Education of Charles University in Prague and the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He is a graphic artist, painter, book illustrator, stamp and ex libris designer. Vladimír Suchánek belongs to a generation who played a key role in the positive development of Czech art in the second half of the 20th century. Suchánek’s prints reveal not only his rich imagination and distinctive poetry but also the masterful use of his preferred graphic technique, colour lithography.
Died in 2021.
