Victorian era perforated punched paper hand embroidery (late 1800’s- early 1900’s).

The perforated paper motto embroidery reads I am the Bread of Life” from John’s Gospel

The lettering and pattern is sombre in greenish gold outlined in ochre on fine white paper punch

 

The vivid colours and skilled needlework makes it a lovely piece of religious art.

The stitching is in very good condition. 

Light moisture damage which adds character and attributes to its age.

Framed and ready to hang

This statement (John6:35) is the first of the “I am” statements in John’s Gospel.
