ANTIQUE JAPANESE MEIJI-ERA c1900 LACQUER WOOD TRAY GOLD HAND PAINTED, VERY FINE!

Pleased to present this wonderful antique Japanese black lacquered wood with extremely finely detailed gold painting.  An exquisite depiction of flowers, butterfly & bamboo, the fine-line painting has gorgeous detailing.  Also, notice it has a slight bend in the wood this quite old. This demonstrates the quality of this excellent & rare piece which truly reflects in light. 

Condition is Used/Pre-owned in very good shape, with discreet chip on cover & minimal scratching on bottom as expected with extreme age & use (see pictures as part of description). Very beautiful!

Estate sale find from an incredible home of a prestigious Air Force pilot/flight leader in charge of troop carrier squadrons. He performed in three American wars (WWII, Korea, & Vietnam) of the Southwest Pacific regions. After WWII ended from 1945-1952, he was assigned director of operations of the Far East Air Forces in Japan. Most of these items are mid-century.
