Ground Cherry (Physalis peruviana) are part of the same family as tomatillos, the nightshade family. Ground cherries are much smaller, about the size of a cherry tomato. The fruits are sweet and fruity tasting and will fall off on to the ground when ripe. Also known as Cape Gooseberries, Husk Cherries, Golden Berries, Chinese Lantern, or in Hawaii Poha Berries
