May-Treanor, alongside her long-time partner Kerri Walsh Jennings, dominated women's beach volleyball for over a decade. The duo won three consecutive Olympic gold medals in 2004 (Athens), 2008 (Beijing), and 2012 (London), making them the first and only beach volleyball team to accomplish this feat. Their success at the Olympics, combined with their dominance on the international circuit, including the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, where they also secured multiple titles, solidified their legacy in the sport. Throughout her career, May-Treanor received numerous accolades, including the AVP Best Defensive Player Award and the FIVB Best Defensive Player Award. She retired from professional beach volleyball following her final Olympic appearance in 2012, ending her career on a high note with a record third Olympic gold medal. Beyond her athletic achievements, Misty May-Treanor has been involved in various charitable activities and has worked to promote the sport of beach volleyball to younger generations.
