Vogue
April 1942, 1953
A special WW2 edition of Vogue magazine, produced during the Second World War. The cover (by John Rawlings) features model Tamara Toumanova wearing a hat with red trim and red jacket and holding a copy of U.S. savings bond and stamps.
A wonderful and super rare issue, with photographs by Horst, John Rawlings and Toni Fressel amongst many others. Evocative and atmospheric advertisements and wonderful articles about economising during the war effort – a real time capsule.
In excellent condition for its age. Minor creases and signs of wear commensurate with age, but with bright and clean pages throughout. A fantastic find.
