FILIPENDULA RUBRA, QUEEN OF THE PRAIRIE

A beautiful and majestic North American plant growing in scattered locations in northeastern and central US and southeastern Canada. This is an erect perennial with large decorative dark-green pinnate, compound leaves and branching red stems. It produces corymbs of deep pink to reddish, sweet fragrant flowers in the summer. The numerous white stamens with pink anthers give the flower a fuzzy appearance. The plant produces rhizomes and spreads slowly with age. It needs rich and constantly moist soils specially when grows in full sun. Excellent perennial for borders and as solitary plant. Attractive cut flower. The Queen of the Prairie really is second to none, invite her majesty into your garden.
