Vintage Caro-Nan Carriage Trade Basket Purse

A woven basket purse with a hinged lid and gingham lining. This type of iconic purse was made by Caro-Nan and many would feature individual cities, then being offered for sale in that city. This purse highlights Cincinnati Ohio and it was originally available at McAlpin's department store. The 1965 penny applied to the top indicates the year it was crafted. This is a tall version of this purse.

Good vintage condition.  The purse is sturdy in spite of numerous breaks in the weaving. The gingham lining is stained. Please examine all listing photos for full condition information.

Measures 9" x 5 5/8" and is just over 9 1/4 inches tall not including the handle.

Inside the lid it is signed "Carriage Trade" and "by Caro-Nan"
