From Barbara Head Millstein, Curator of Photographs, Brooklyn Museum of Art:

"Ms. Bianchi's work reflects the classical ideal of the female nude, but with a touch of the bizarre.

According to Bianchi, she tries to juxtapose mythology with the most ordinary daily activities.

Her work involves social commentary in sublime settings.

She delights in creating her own theater. She says of these tableaux, "I work on one series of pictures for as long as the concept pleases me and when that sense of pleasure leaves I make a transition to a new idea and begin again.

Each woman is to me absolutely beautiful regardless of weight or shape.

I am interested in the body image and how I and all women feel about themselves.  I look for the touch of humor combined with ideal beauty which each of these women embodies."

Women and men respond to Bianchi's work with equal enthusiasm.

Her images are a reminder that the nude embodies not only the range of human beauty, but also the question of what constitutes perfection.

These photographs offer all of us a confirmation of our ability to triumph over the inevitability of nature."
