This rare limited issue WW2 Midway Print titled “Sole Survivor” number 358/1000 is a true gem for collectors of US Naval Aviation Combat Art. The print depicts the heroic tale of Ens. George Gay, the sole survivor of Torpedo Squadron Eight which was sent to attack Japanese carriers during the Battle of Midway in 1942. The print is signed by artist Wm. Reynolds and Ens. George Gay, making it a truly unique and original work of art.


While the print is in excellent shape and has been well-preserved over the years, the colors are vibrant and the details are sharp,the picture frame has numerous paint chips , scratches and gouges suffered over the years during an office and home moves Nevertheless, it a beautiful addition to any collection of Naval Aviation Art of the Battle of Midway, the turning point in the Pacific Theater during WW2.
