Vintage Fragata Espanola Ano 1780 Wooden Spanish Warship Model Ship Boat 24"x27".

There are some broken parts, pieces, scratches, scuffs and marks throughout.  Some net rigging and Sails towards the front of the ship need some repair and/or need to be re-hung. There's blemishes, possible small missing pieces that I'm unaware of, some discoloration, missing paint spots randomly throughout the ship, dust and marks. That all being said, if she's cleaned up and fixed a with a little work, you will have a really beautiful piece!!

Info about this actual ship when it existed:

This elegant and majestic frigate model was hand crafted circa 1950-1960.  Named “Frigata Espana,” the large naval sailboat sits on an integral wooden base decorated with a small plaque which reads “Frigata Espana Ano 1780.” The main boat itself features authentic and unique details including many string ringings, spare boats, hanging netting, and anchors. The piece of maritime art is in very nice condition commensurate with age and use, and has a hand painted finish throughout.

The model vessel would resonate with sailors or other seafaring enthusiasts. There is evidence that this ship was one of the Spanish ships that fought in the battle of Cape St. Vincent, which took place off the southern coast of Portugal on January 16, 1780 during the American Revolutionary War.  It was one of the opening battles of the Anglo-Spanish War, as part of the French Revolutionary Wars, where a British fleet under Admiral Sir John Jervis defeated a greatly superior Spanish fleet under Admiral Don José de Córdoba y Ramos near Cape St. Vincent, Portugal.
