Looks can be deceiving. The KILLER-D makes a sweet sound and surface commotion with just a straight retrieve that gets monsters to lunge from right under.
＜Use＞
Cast and make a slow retrieve. Without pulling too much on the line, retrieve the KILLER-D with just enough speed to allow the wet tail blade to make a sweet metallic rattling sound. The KILLER-D will do the rest in attracting fish.
The proper rod position depends on the height of your standing position and distance from the lure, so adjust accordingly to keep a steady sound going.
＜Powerful current and high-pitched metallic sound＞
The KILLER-D has a distinct cup-shaped indent at the back of the body which gathers and pushes water through its stunted body to create a powerful and turbulent current. Once you see the varied and thick waves produced, you’ll see the powerful currents that this cup-shaped tail has made.
The original bronze tail blade comes alive when the strong currents come through. Unlike typical blades, this one is made with the same bronze used in wind instruments, cymbals, and bells, which results in a high-quality high-pitched metallic sound and reverberation.
※ The sound is designed by balancing the following factors: action (swaying distance), distance from surface, sway frequency, distance between blade and body, and blade size/weight.
＜Highly durable Duralumin-made lip＞
To produce a rhythmic action in the hefty body of the KILLER-D, the Duralumin-made lip is one of the essential parts. The lip angles just enough for slight cranking action, while keeping the perfect distance between blade and top water. Adding to the metallic sound is a muffle that makes for an enticing overall sound.
＜Lowered hook position＞
Front and back hook hangers are mounted on small bases to optimize distance between hook and body. This improves hookup ratio.
