I title this face jug “Hare Splitting”. It’s a linguistic play between the phrases hair- raising and splitting hairs. This face jug measures 7.5 inches wide (whisker to whisker), 5.5 inches wide front to back and 10 inches tall. This face jug is made of high fired stoneware.

This face jug is also a commentary regarding the split brain, hemispheric asymmetry and helical asymmetrical balance in the brain as it relates to biological systems, microtubules and consciousness. Below is a short story about balance and the hare.

In the enchanted forest a mischievous hare gained the ability to split into two halves – one adventurous, the other cautious – through a magical crystal. Seeking guidance from a wise owl, the hare learned to embrace both sides for harmony. Balancing the polarity of adventure and caution, he became more aware and resilient, increasing his embodiment of consciousness. The woodland creatures celebrated his tale for generations to come.
