The TONE MONSTER SEB Series preamps are a cost-effective solution for any instrument equipped with either magnetic or piezoelectric pickups. With a +/- 12dB range for either two (treble/bass) or three (treble/middle/bass) bands of equalization, they are pre wired and ready to install. Best of all they will bring your passive pickups to life! Features include brass shaft potentiometers and a balance potentiometer with a NO SOLDER terminal block for easy pickup connection (neck~shared ground~bridge). For single pickup or pickup selector switch applications simply remove the balance potentiometer.

The SEB Series also features a gain trim potentiometer mounted right on the circuit board (small blue cube) so you can increase or decrease the incoming signal based on the pickup(s) being used. SEB PA+ model features the PPB v.1 passive/active volume upgrade with or without a passive tone control. The mid frequency toggle feature (MT) allows you to select from 250, 500 or 800Hz.

The circuit board, manufactured using Surface Mount Technology (SMT), is covered in epoxy to prevent damage and secure the wiring. Top quality components and meticulous soldering ensures noise free performance. The plastic case (45 X 25 mm) includes an adhesive pad for secure mounting. Powered by a 9V alkaline battery (not included) the circuit can handle up to 18V (2-9V in series) for increased headroom. We offer DIY power upgrades including the BAT-1 (18V) or BAT-2 (9 or 18V switchable).

We suggest using pickups with similar outputs, either magnetic or piezoelectric, but not both together since the balance function is passive.

Our preamps were designed for use and work best with passive pickups!
