RARE Houston Llew Spiritiles No. 121 Dance Lesson - Retired and Sold Out

Very rare & hard to find Houston Llew Spiritile #121 Dance Lesson. This Spiritile has long been retired and sold out. The Dance Lesson Spiritile does not become available very often. The tile is in excellent pre-owned condition and comes with the original Houston Llew box.

Please note that as this was pre-owned, a previous owner wrote a note on the back of it in silver marker. An attempt to remove this was made, but not completed. It could be furthered if you choose to, but when the tile is on display, none of the back will be visible.

Quote begins on left side and finishes on right- author noted on top. Each Spiritile is made from copper, glass and wood. They can hang on a wall or stand alone, and will never fade or tarnish.

Every Spiritile is made painstakingly by hand in Houston Llew's studio in Atlanta, Georgia. The glass is applied to one side of the metal using stencils and relying on precise layering with hand sifters. The piece is only fired once. After firing, a pin is rolled over the enameled metal to form intentional crazing marks in the glass. Although it goes against the medium's traditional teachings, Houston says this technique creates increased light refraction, particularly in the transparent glass.

The tile will be shipped via Priority Mail with tracking and insurance due to its rarity and value. Free local pickup in Houston is available. Message me if you would prefer this method.
