The four columns around the outside (and one in the middle) of the bowl are specifically designed to prevent your pet from eating too fast and to slow down a gulping dog. To use, simply cut or chop your dog's food up and place it evenly around the bowl. The columns prevent your pet from effectively hoovering up their food.
