Wonderful original cabinet photograph from a Russian photo studio. Item was previously in a scrapbook album.

This item is part of a recent acquisition of numerous c. 1870s - 1880s theater and Operatic ephemera; originally owned by noted French tenor soloist Victor Clodio; of French and Italian schooling. Mr. Clodio made his debut in opera roles in Paris, spent several years as the primo tenore of Mapleson's great Italian Opera Company, came to the US in 1879, spent seasons with Patrick Sarsfield Gilmore and for two years was the tenor at the Academy of Music. In 1881 he became a member of the cast at the Metropolitan opera-house; and toured the country in concert with Patti. He was an instructor of many prominent singers later in his life; until his death at 63 years old. Many of the pieces I will be listing have very personable inscriptions from the famous performer to their friend, Mr. Clodio - these are great pieces of original, genuine, authentic music history.

Any questions just ask. Will ship with extra care. Happy to ship international; also happy to combine shipping. If you are outside of either US or Europe and would like to purchase just message me so I can prepare an accurate shipping quote.
