Found archive of love letter correspondence between WW2 Navy Seabee Ben Krasna and his new bride Ruth Kresna over the course of the War.  They appeared to have resided in the Southern California area and specifically Huntington Beach at some point.

There are 2 sets of letters that were save in separate large kraft envelopes.  All letters were flattened and in chronological order.  One set from Ben to Ruth and one set from Ruth to Ben.

There are a total of 297 letter. 185 letters consisting of 229 pages from Ben and 68 letters consisting of 201 pages from Ruth to Ben.  There were no envelopes.

The dates of the letters span some time.  The letters from Ruth to Ben are dated from Dec 6, 1942 to end of February 1943 and then from March 1944 to August 1944.  The letters from Ben are dated from October 16, 1944 to October 3, 1945.

I did not attempt to read much of the letter content, just perused it.  They talk of their love, saving money to buy a house, family and friends, things she is doing at work and at home, he talks of day to day life in the military, receiving her letters.  At some he indicates he is on Samar Island, Philippines.  He speaks several times about a "rash" he has gotten and it worries her.  She draws little sketches showing him the dresses/fashion choices she is making.  She talks about a fellow Jewish friend he made in the military and her fashion choices for Passover.  She talks about the news of D-Day and is both worried and excited the War could be ending soon.  That is literally from just reading through a few random letters!

The pages are differing sizes, many are written on both sides.  Most in very good condition, some have some edge wear from storage.  All letters are very legible as they both had good hand writing.

A wonderful archive of love from both the war front and home front saves all these years.  Please ask any questions before bidding.

Thank you!
