John Frusciante's solo work has a hugely devoted and hardcore fan base who never fail to snap it up, and then again when it gets reissued. That was the case with this one first time round and surely will be again, 12 years later. Originals of 2009's 'The Empyrean record often fetch mad prices on the second hand market and this one sure is a winner with contributions from The Smiths' Johnny Marr and Red Hot Chili Peppers bandmate Flea. The sound is, as ever, earnest and emotional, with John's voice often adrift amongst ambient chords one moment and soaring next to huge riffs the next.
