Brand New YAMAHA Custom YCL SEVR Clarinet

The Yamaha SEVR Bb Clarinet is the redesigned version of the widely acclaimed SEV clarinet and was introduced in 2015. The Yamaha Custom VR clarinets have been carefully refined to give players unrivalled freedom of expression. A number significant changes have been made to the instrument’s design allowing Yamaha to deliver a clarinet that meets clarinetists’ desires for a higher standard of clarinet.

The ergonomics are refined by making the C#/G# key longer. The touch and playability have been greatly improved. The thicker silver key plating and durable leather pads further add to the instrument’s rich, luxurious tone.

The Yamaha SEVR clarinet is the counterpart of the Yamaha CSVR clarinet and the two differ from each other due to the design of the bore (similar to the RC and R13 of Buffet Crampon)

The SEVR has a slightly larger bore and taper and bigger tone holes than the CSVR. It has a bigger sound and a broad dynamic range, but at the same time has a soft, warm and rich sound.

With the SEVR, Yamaha once again shows that it can absolutely compete with other established clarinet brands. The SEVR is a serious rival to the Buffet Crampon R13/RC and the Selmer Présence clarinets.
