Capsule Plarail is a toy range launched in 1999 (February 2000 for Thomas & Friends line) by Takara Tomy A.R.T.S (or T-ARTS, formerly Yujin), a capsule "Gacha" toy subsidiary of Takara Tomy in Japan, or TOMY COMPANY, as known in overseas markets. The range is a small wind-up or push-along version of the standard Plarail range by Takara Tomy, and is sold in "Gacha" capsule toy vending machines across Japan (New time-limited specific theme-based Thomas & Friends sets/editions come out every few months), and it features engines with wind-up mechanisms and a plastic blue track system.
