1977 Citroen HY Van in very good condition, was fully restored and converted to a very high standard in 2019, the chassis and floors are in fantastic condition, it has some small areas of surface rust on the front doors, but these are minimal and the van is in generally excellent condition and is a real eye catcher.
It has an original 1900cc Citroen petrol engine and three speed gearbox.
It has been fitted out as an ice cream van, with a large soft scoop/ice lolly chest freezer, a slushy machine (three flavour) a drinks fridge, a hand wash sink, with electric boiler and pump and best of all a Carpigiani 191P Ice cream machine (whippy).
I bought the ice cream machine in May 2022, it was used for 3 months only, it still has warranty with Carpigiani until May 2025, This machine is fantastic and cost £10,500 plus VAT, not including the extended warranty. It is a pump fed self pasteurising machine and is in "as new" condition. It can churn out approximately 250 ice creams per hour.
The appliances are all electric. It has interior LED lights, lovely work surfaces, storage cupboards and a very well installed catering hatch and is finished to a very high standard.
The van starts and drives well, however is is very old technology, with a three speed gearbox and drum brakes!
It is a real eye-catcher and attracts attention wherever it goes.
We used the van for two years outside of our park cafe and it was a fantastic crowd puller.
It is fitted with a vintage wind up Harvin chime and amplifier.
This is a reluctant sale, but we have relocated and sadly don't have use for the van anymore.
It would be a fantastic business opportunity for events festivals, or as we used it outside of a cafe etc.
It does need an electricity supply, or could be run off a large generator (around 5KVA)
