Retro full leather ‘moc croc’ Gladstone bag made in Australia by the Foresca company N.S.W and distributed by the Robinson Company in Parramatta in the mid-20th century. The leather is labelled Top Grade Sold Hide. The beautiful leather exterior is a medium tone tan. It measures width 26cm or 10.5", length 51cm or 20", height 27cm or 11" which is (mostly) allowable size for a carry-on when flying. This is a very well-made sturdy piece of luggage with a firm box base and expanding V-shaped hinges at each end.  It has brass & stainless-steel hardware. The front clasp & hasp has some corrosion as is expected in luggage about seventy years old but still opens and closes smoothly. The base sits on six small brass ball feet so the leather base is kept clean and well protected & the interior is green, white, black, tan cotton tartan and is in good clean condition. This bag is superior because the mouth stays apart when the hinges open whereas I have seen quite a few Gladstone's where the hinge doesn’t hold the extension and the bag collapses in on itself, a  nuisance for packing & unpacking The leather Moc Croc exterior is in very good condition because it has been polished twice yearly & stored well although there are minor  worn patches of wear in the stress areas like the corners of the base, the strap handles are in good shape, some minor wear on the seams of the tab holding the handle. There are two internal side pockets which are a bit saggy but are repairable. It is an indicator of quality craftmanship & materials that this bag has been used for 60 – 70 years and is still in remarkable condition. It easily matches the quality of a contemporary leather overnight bag with the benefit of fitting (most) of the carry-on air size parameters when flying with an overall measurement of 104cm. Look closely at the photos as they form an important part of the description. If you have any questions please make contact. Thanks for visiting.
