This newest, splendid cultivar is the first Heliopsis without a hint of yellow! The sturdy stems of "Bleeding Hearts" are black and the foliage emerges almost entirely black before settling down to a very dark purple. Striking coloured blossoms contrast magnificently with dark stems and leaves. Flowers start out scarlet-red before maturing to the deep orange-red, and then to lingering washed tones of bronze-red. Serious candidate to all garden awards. This full hardy, care-free perennial flowers in first-year from sowing. Fabulously looks in the border or large container. Ideal as a solitary plant and fantastic cut-flower.
