For sale is my beloved Nikon Super CoolScan LS-8000 ED film scanner. This scanner has seen light, non-commercial use.

As per Nikon, "The Nikon Super Coolscan 8000 ED is a revolutionary multi-format film scanner that produces large volume, high speed scans that maximize workflow productivity, while a 4.2 dynamic range and 4,000 dpi optical resolution ensure image quality equal to a drum scanner. Designed for imaging professionals and professional photographers, this desktop film scanner utilizes a sophisticated imaging system that integrates Nikon’s large diameter Scanner Nikkor ED glass lens with proprietary LED technology for consistent color and razor sharpness. In addition, the scanner incorporates Applied Science Fiction’s Digital ICE3™ technology into Nikon Scan® 3 for automatic removal of surface defects, restoration of color, exposure correction and minimization of film grain."

That's right, this is a real bear of a scanner. If you're shooting film and want to digitize your work, this is the way to go. The CoolScan 8000 handles 35mm and 120 formats. It uses the Firewire 400 IEEE 1394 serial bus to connect to a computer. Nikon Scan 4 software for Windows is available for free download from the Nikon website. The most recent version of Windows I personally have used it with is Windows 10. The scanner is also supported by ScanSoft and VueScan software.

Included with the scanner are the FH-835 S and FH-835 M film holders for scanning 35mm film in strip or mounted form.

Also included is a Firewire 400 PCIe x 1 computer bus card with a FW 400 to 400 cable, a FW 400 to 800 cable, a FW 400 to 400 mini cable, and a power cable.

The coveted FH-869 G 120/220 film holder with anti-newton ring glass has been listed separately and not included in this sale.
