Genuine BMW R69 S Classic Swiss Made Automatic Watch !!! Discontinued model from the 2000's. Swiss made. Automatic movement with 25 Jewels and 48 hours Power Reserve. Ultra rare model, yet along in new condition: the instruction manual is missing and the top cartoon cover shows some shelf wear, otherwise NEW, NEW, NEW, still has the plastic foil on the back and the pocket watch adapter. Unique and super rare case design. The design is superb, simply because the crown is hidden and the watch case has continues lines.

A superb and very rare stainless steel container case, with the crown integrated, and a mineral crystal glass will safeguard your precious timepiece for many years to come. Superb ivory and black dial design with a crisp BMW logotype and date in window at 12 o'clock and R69 S logotype at 6 o'clock. The dial represents the speedometer of the legendary BMW Motorcycle R69 S. The glass bottom allows you to admire the <<engine>>, a fine Swiss made, self winding movement, which incorporates no fewer than 25 Jewels and has a power reserve of 48 hours. The high-grade steel <<body>> of your watch is water resistant to a 4 bar. The black <<safety belt>> is made of the finest leather.

BMW R69 S. The “hot” BMW motorcycle of the 1960s was the 600cc, high-compression (9.5:1) R69S.
Based around a 594cc air-cooled boxer motor making 42bhp, the S model was BMW's top-of-the-range machine when it was launched and, as such, also featured added luxuries like plush Earles fork and a steering damper as standard. The R69S benefited from BMW's extensive racing experience by that time and shared some of that race technology. It was BMW's flagship sports bike throughout the 1960s and although it wasn't the fastest machine on the roads (top speed was still a very respectable 110mph), it was renowned for its superbly smooth handling, reliability, build quality and finish - as well as its classic clean looks. In fact, BMW got the package so close to perfection that 11,317 units of the bike were produced from 1960 to 1969 with hardly any changes or updates. The R69S was, and remains, a prestige motorcycle and has been described as a 'work of mechanical art.' It's s still considered by many to be the ultimate BMW production motorcycle.

It's just up to you ! You can either wear your BMW R69 S as a wrist watch or as a pocket watch. To change the movement container:

push down gently on the glass container to release it
click it back into place in the direction of the arrows, in the case of your choice
make sure it holds tightly. The marks have to match.

Water Resistance
....a never-ending source of misunderstandings often caused by the irresponsible advertising of certain competitors, who are usually the ones to refuse any responsibility when damage by water occurs.
Here are the facts in plain English:
1. Every known brand submits the watch to a 2-phase test in a chamber, where it has to withstand to pressure for the minimum length of time required by industrial standards. It may seem a paradox, but low pressure-resistance, say at 0.5 bar equivalent to 50 cm depth is more critical to achieve, because increasing pressure tends to compress the seals, thereby increasing the resistance; the second phase test conducted at 3 bar (30 m.) is confirmatory.
Because of a solid case-construction, the known brands watches will resist to 10 bar (100 m. or 300 ft) and we could confidently call it a «diver’s watch»
2. HOWEVER:
The water resistance of a wristwatch is constantly challenged by mechanical wear caused by bumps, shocks etc., rapid changes in temperature, caustic acids, chemicals, etc. and can therefore not be guaranteed as a permanent condition. I renounces to using inflationary «theoretical» claims; the decision to wear your valuable timepiece for swimming, diving or in the Sauna is yours. On a side-note: only very few specially trained and equipped divers reach depths of 100 m and wear professional computers to indicate the life-saving compression- and decompression data; at such depths, normal watches will just not do.
