Erra amulet - Protection from plague cuneiform writing

Dimensions :-

Height - 8 cm / 3-1/8 inches

Width - 6 cm / 2-1/4 inches

I can’t think of a more topical addition to the range than this plague protection amulet. I have recreated it based on one of many Neo-Assyrian examples to have survived which were either carried during one’s travels or placed in the house.

Among the most important passages of text is one that states the plague & pestilence shall pass over the house that has the magical amulet in use.

Such was the ancient fear that could grip the cities of Mesopotamia when people witnessed plagues that were beyond the capabilities of the highest healers and sages.

History repeats itself sometimes.........
