Antique1907 "GLOBE BASEBALL ASS'N MUG This item is an original 1907 "Globe Baseball Association" ceramic mug from Sept 15, 1907 celebrating a baseball game between the New York American Baseball team, who were the champions of the morning newspaper leaque and the Boston Globe team who were the champions of the New England Leaque. The Boston "Globe Base Ball Association member met the New York team at the "Warwick Club" in Providence RI for a day of dining and sporting events on September 15, 1907. 

They then all traveled via train to Boston where the game took place on September the 16th at the American Leaque Baseball Park. The tan mug has "GLOBE BASE BALL ASS'N" written across the top with "WARWICK CLUB", "SEPT 15-1907." written on the bottom. A fat man , who was part of the "Boston Globe" logo at that time apears in the middle. The fat man has a top hat with "Globe" written on it and a belt with " The Largest Circulation" written on it.

The Mug was manufactured for the event by the Dorchester Pottery Works of Boston.

This fantastic Baseball Tournament Beer Mug measures approx. 4 1/4" tall and 3 3/8" in diameter at the base. 
The Mug features a wonderful, cream / mocha colored glaze on the outer surface with blue surface decoration that includes a portrait of the Boston Globe Newspaper's trademark "Fat Man" surrounded by text that reads "Globe Base Ball Ass'n / Warwick Club / Sept. 15-1907".

 It is marked with the number "10" on the base and is documented as having been manufactured by the Dorchester Pottery Works.

This very rare and very attractive, 1907 Baseball Souvenir Beer Mug / Stein is in good condition - the glaze and the colors are bright.  There is a small fleck off the front rim and light staining along the rim as well as tight crazing on the glaze throughout- see photos.
