This listing is for an antique doll recently purchased from a local estate sale.

She is the "Santa" doll made by Simon & Halbig. She has a socket type head with a ball jointed composition body.  Her eyes are paperweight blue glass sleep eyes and she has an open mouth with small teeth. Her ears are pierced ears and her lips are accented with highlights on the upper heart shaped bow and bottom center. She has two dimples on her cheeks and one in her chin. Her eyebrows are brushstroked and she has good coloring on her cheeks.

She stands approx. 17" tall.  She is marked "S & H 1279 DEP Germany 7" on the back of her head and her body is stamped in red "Heinrich Handwerk 1" on the torso.

She wears a purple satin dress with velvet trim and a black velvet cape hood trimmed with rabbit fur and she has a tiny rabbit fur muff.

Condition:  She is in very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. The body has minimal wear and there is a crack on the ball of one the hip joints. See close up photo.
Her 1980s era wig is a modern synthetic replacement and her clothes are also not original---they are vintage perhaps from the 1940s and 50s. The dress is slightly too small for the doll and the cap and bonnet are too large. There is damage to the rabbit fur trim on the velvet cap and hood.

Please note: her brows are perfect. There is reflection from the studio lights that makes them looked rubbed or worn but they are not.

I believe she has been re-strung.
