GREECE and the IONIAN REPUBLIC +
No 23

This is for a nice, hand painted antique map. Framed by Colton’s signature twisting scrolls, it is a great pictorial image of a dated time.  I believe this to be a original, and was published by J.H.COLTON & CO. No 172 William St. New York, and was (I believe) found in Colton's 1855 Atlas.  I am not sure which edition this came from, but hopefully the clues lie in the map number and possibly the exact title. Other data on map reads Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1855 by J.H. Colton & Co. in the Clerks Office of the District Court of the United States for the Southern DIstrict of New York.

This map is in good condition, and does show typical page discoloration from age.  This was removed from a book, so edges show signs of spine, and has water damage on the edges, but does not interfere with the actual image. May have some spots of discoloration. I tried to capture them in the photo if so.

Please feel free to ask any questions prior to purchase, and while I am not a map/geography person, I will do the best I can to answer.

I have other ones from the same world atlas (No US), and would consider selling the lump together, just inquire with a price and we can go from there.

Would make for a great framed gift, encapsulating a rich history of that region.

I take pride in my pictures, and are a valuable extension of my description. Please take time to see the product fully.
