From my MILs estate...

This piece dates to the early 20th century and was found with my mother-in-law's husband's mother's (that's a mouthful!) sewing stuff along with other handmade pieces from that era. My guess is that it is about 100 years old. It was wrapped in tissue that had also turned darker.

This is a hand made tatted baby bonnet/cap. I have no babies to model it so I used my old Chatty Cathy doll. haha! It's not a great fit, but it was the only head available. :-)  And hopefully you can get an idea of what it looks like.

I took measurements with the bonnet lying flat on my desk. Please refer to photos for sizes, Most measurements will need to be doubled for full measurement.

The stitching is consistent and well done -- just beautiful!

Color:  soft ecru from aging

I don't see any stains or holes.
