MEGA RARE BEATLES GEORGE HARRISON 'THIS SONG' MONO AND STEREO TEST PRESSING PROMO 45 1976

These certainly don't come along very often, but here it is. George Harrison 1976 Dark Horse Records Test Pressing for George's hit 'This Song' white label factory test pressing in Mono hand written with time stamp, date and song title. Printed disclaimer on both side labels: Available only to techs, and other authorized personnel. Not to be sold, otherwise distributed, publicly performed or reproduced

The record shows minimal play, with a just a few hairlines, and the labels are crisp and clear, as seen in the photos.

This test pressing issue is far more scarce than the commercial and standard promo issued 45s. You will also receive the grey promo issue of the title and a brief synopsis of the song history and lyrics. This custom sleeve features a little push from George in response for losing the lawsuit by Allen Klein where he claimed that Harrison's 'My Sweet Lord' sounded too much like 'He's So Fine' by the Chiffons.

The wax stampings are as follows:

The record industry makes every effort to insure that their commercially released records will play properly and hold true to the sound recorded by the recording artist. Test Pressings are run using the ?stampers? that will be used for the final pressings. These pressings are samples made prior to production. In appearance test pressings typically have plain white labels, with all other identifiers hand printed in ink. When a record pressing plant does a test pressing, they press 5 copies, 3 for the record label, and two for their files. This requires the press to stamp 5 times to produce 5 copies. Tests must be approved before the plant will go ahead and run the records. Test pressing are run to check for the following: Noise, pops occurring in the same place on each test pressing.
