Niner Jet 9 - Size XL
80mm Rear Travel a & 100mm Fork
XC Trail / Gravel Machine

This bike has always been a rocket on XC trails, but over the last few years I've used it for rides in town on rides over greenway / gravel / and light trails.  Is it extremely fast on gravel and smoother trails.  I'm faster on the Jet 9 on gravel than on a dedicated gravel bike, even though the Jet is heavier than the gravel bike with heavier tires.  It has just enough travel to soak up gravel and washout sections, keeping you on the power and on line.  The frame and fork were hanging in a local shop for a long time (XL size not in demand), so I picked it up and have had a blast on it.  Only selling because I have too many bikes and bought an EMTB.

The build:
  • Jet 9 with 80mm travel.  Very efficient rear suspension.
  • Rear Shock is a Rockshox Monarch with Lockout
  • Fork is a Rockshox Reba SL with 100mm travel and a remote lockout that is great when you need to get out of the saddle.
  • 9 Spd Deore rear der and shifters
  • Wheelset is mixed with Stan's Arch rear and a Specialized front.  Front wheel came off of a Specialized Epic and has a larger axle and QR to maximize stiffness in the front end on the QR fork.
  • Tires are Schwalbe Hurricanes which roll really well and have been perfect for gravel/greenway/XC rides.  Frame and fork will easily fit a 29 x 2.2 if you'd rather mount up knobbies.
  • Specialized saddle.
  • I used the bar ends for some comfort on longer rides.
  • Avid BB7 Mechanical Discs - 185 front / 160 rear rotors.
  • Set up 2x.
Love this bike but just have too many and need to clear some things out.  Tough decision on this one!
