“The Faux-Semblants collection, designed by Rachel and Benoît Convers for Ibride, is the perfect representation of the balance between art and design, history and contemporaneity. Yuan Parnasse is a stackable tableware set consisting of bowls and salad bowls that is inspired by the typical shape of the Chinese Yuan vase, seemingly simple but enclosing inside a different story. Yuan Parnasse portrays a bucolic atmosphere characterized by immortal statues, the ancient beauties of a forgotten park. Once stacked, this set transforms into a unique decorative object.”

Invariably you’ll be asked if it contains a relatives ashes.

One of my all time favourite designs, the complicated and complex, yet at the same ingenuously simple & practical- a killer combination in my book and it never fails to baffle people. I tend to gently drop/knock one over and watch the ensuing cries of “oh my god” as they leap off the sofa.

Also when searching for comparisons elsewhere, just be mindful of the fact that many stockists will be based abroad. Therefore factor in increased postage costs and customs & duties & what at first seems a bargain, may in fact be anything but. At least if you’re buying from me within the UK there are no hidden costs or fees.

With its price almost inevitably going up now it’s discontinued, that should act as a greater impetus to acquire it now while you can, especially as it’s complete with the 4 original and the 4 extra plates. Tracking those extra plates down alone was time consuming, but thankfully you can now avoid having to do likewise.

Of the 5 stockists I can find with the Parnasse the average price is £241.80 and that’s not including the 4 extra plates I have also sourced. So I’m basing the price on what I would have to pay if I were a buyer securing a full service just like yourselves. If I took the average again and added on the extra plates that is £346.80 then add on the postage costs that’s pushing £360.

Therefore I think it fair to myself and to a buyer that I reflect this context of buying the Parnasse that is transparent and open and remains competitive. The price I’ve arrived at is £335 including postage. For the complete dinner service that has to be the most competitive around. At the highest end of what is available you’d be paying £390.00 + £12.75 so over £400.00 and that assuming you’ve not bought the 8-piece service from abroad with customs to also add on. I hope my logic has been clear, if not please message me directly.
