THE BRASS MONO BLOCK TOOL FOR REMOVAL OF
VACUMATIC FILLER UNIT IN PARKER 51 PEN

Many times, we need to remove the Vacumatic Filler Unit, whenever the Latex Sack or the Sack Holding Cup, need for maintenance or replacement of Parker 51 Vacumatic Pen. In such condition, we need a perfect tool, to Gently unscrew the filling unit, without damaging it and the delicate Pen Barrel.

In the market, there are many different types of Tools, which are intended for this work. One of my friend from USA, asked me to design, a relayable tool, both solid 👌 Built,  lasting for many years, very simple to use and at a reasonable cost. I came up with this Tool.

DESIGN :  The Tool is a Solid Mono Block of Brass, which is Cubicle in shape, and has three Openings at it's center, and one Horizontally cut slot, to divide the block into two jaws. The slot passes through all the three Openings of Brass Block, but will not separate the Block into two pieces, as it doesn't cut the Right opening completely. There is one more aperture, on either sides of the block, which passes Perpendicularly to the Slot, which accommodate the 304 Stainless Steel, Wing Nut and Bolt on either sides, respectively.

In Vacumatic Fountain Pens, Parker has Made, 3 Sizes.

1) Demi Size (For women), the smallest size of Parker 51.

2) Standard Size (Also called as Medium size)

3) Over Size (Big size among the Parker 51)

ALL THE 3 SIZES OF THE PARKER 51 VACUMATIC FILLER UNITS CAN BE UNSCREWED BY THIS SINGLE VAC BLOCK.

- THE middle opening, which is the smallest, can UNSCREW BOTH, Demi Size and the Standard Size.

- THE Bigger Opening UNSCREWS, the OVERSIZE Parker 51, Exclusively.

The Brass Block is Hand turned, Hand polished,
Very precisely split, for making the slot. Great care has been taken for achieving the optimum quality control. Brass is the ideal metal, and superior than Aluminum. Aluminum has the only advantage of less weight and less cost, but, it's durability and Efficiency is greatly shadowing. As Aluminum ages, the metal reacts with oxygen in the atmosphere and, turns into white powder called "Aluminum Oxide". Deterioration of threads will happen in the course of time and once we try to unscrew the Filler Unit, chances of thread locking, and grip will be minimal. This will help in slipping of the block from the Filler Unit, can also result in savage of threads, both on the Filler Unit and even damaging the Pen Barrel. On the other hand, Brass resistant to Rusting and almost, no reaction with atmospheric elements, hence very stable and Highly durable. Brass is gentle on the threads of FILLING UNIT, and will not cause any damage to the same. The Tool is also provided with, 304 Stainless steel, Wing Nut and wing Bolt for, giving optimum grip to Jaws of the Brass Block, and they are both rust proof and highly Durable.

Method of Using the VAC BLOCK

PICTURE-1) The Packaging 📦 of Vac Block is Delivered, to you, as seen in this Picure. YOU WILL BE HAVING A LITTLE AMOUNT OF MINARAL OIL,WHICH IS USED TO PREVENT THE TARNISH OF YELLOW COLOR BLOCK TO BROWN. Kindly use a Tissue paper.                     to wipe the oil. The oil is odor Less.

PICTURE-2) Shows, Wing Nut and Bolt Seperated from the Main Vac.                               Block. Dissambled Unit.

PICTURE-3) Shows, Different Parts of the Brass Vac Block, viz, Right and left Jaws, The middle, Small opening, used for screwing the    Demi Size and the Standard Size Filler Unit. The Bigger opening, Near to the Jaws, is for Oversized Filler Unit, Exclusively.

PICTURE-4) The side aperture, which is THROUGH the Right and Left Jaw, accepts Wing Nut and the Wing Bolt. Insert the Wing Bolt into the aperture, seen at the side of the Right Jaw of the Block. Let the Wing Bolt freely pass through the aperture of the left Jaw of the block. Now screw the Wing Nut on the left side of the Block Gently.

PICTURE-5) Gently turn the Wing Nut, fastening it to the, Left Jaw of the block. Don't tighten the Wing Bolt and Wing Nut, Until the Filler Unit is screwed into it.

PICTURE-6) Now take the Vacumatic Pen, which you want to Unscrew the Filler Unit. If the Pen is Demi or Standard Size, then Use the Middle, small opening, or if the Pen is Oversized, then use the bigger opening, as said in the pastRemove the Blind Cap of the Pen and place the threaded portion of the Filler Unit in the opening, and turn the Pen Gently, so that the Filler Unit, gets locked into the Block Opening.

PICTURE-7) Now, Gently turn the Wing Nut or Wing Bolt, so that the jaws of the Brass Block, Grips the Filler Unit, Tightly. DON'T OVER TIGHTEN THE JAWS OF THE BRASS BLOCK.

PICTURE-8) Once the thread's of the Brass Block, interlock with the threads of the Filler Unit, a strong grip is Established. Now, Gently turn the Pen, to Unscrew the Filler Unit, which separates from the Pen Barrel.

PICTURE-10) The Filler Unit completely separates itself, from the Barrel.

NOTE :    IT'S ALWAYS BETTER TO DIP THE FILLER UNIT IN HOT WATER FOR ABOUT 10 TO 15 MINUTES, BEFORE USING THE BRASS BLOCK. HOT WATER GENTLY HEATS UP THE SHELLAC, PRESENT AT THE JUNCTURE OF THE FILLER UNIT AND THE BARREL OF THE PEN AND PARTIALLY ASSIST IN LOOSENING THE FILLER UNIT. THEN, THE VAC BLOCK CAN BE USED VERY SAFELY, WITHOUT DAMAGING THE BARREL OR THE FILLING UNIT.

Thanks for seeing this small and sensible work.
