This beautiful enamel trinket box by Halcyon Days from The Metropolitan Opera collection made in Bilston, England.  It is rare and hard to find. With the beautiful flower and butterfly pattern on a pale blue background, inside the box on the top is written;
"I will bring little children with me Who will pretend to be fairies and butterflies", from  Falstaff Act II, Scene I, Giuseppe Verdi from The Metropolitan Opera collection.   In the bottom of the box is a painted butterfly and the words; "World premier, February 9, 1893".  On the base there is an artist's(?) signature.
Crafted in the United Kingdom, this English-style box is made of high-quality enamel and comes in a blue Halcyon Days gift box .  It measures approximately, 3.25" diameter and 1.25" in height.
