This is a stunning Whiting & Davis wrist purse. This was probably silver-plated mesh material, but it doesn't look silver anymore. It has not been cleaned, but even if it was cleaned, I don't think it would look silver anymore....but I could be wrong. I don't want to try to clean it. :)

The is an authentic piece and is marked on the inside metal frame as Whiting & Davis Co. Its marked: Pat D with letters I can't make our. Then Oct  5 1920 as well a  the words: soldered mesh. The piece is in remarkably good condition for being almost 104 years old! There are no holes in the mesh or connection holes. There are a few strands if the finger missing.

The purse features a stylish flapper look. This original purse is a must-have for collectors of antique accessories. It was made in the United States.

It measures from tip to tip: almost 14". = 35.56 Centimeters. The purse measures only 7 5/8" = 19.35 Centimeters from clasp to edge of fringe. The strap is 5 7/8" long with one moving tab to tighten it to the wrist.

The hardware measures 3 7/8" = 9.7 Centimeters from hinge to top and 1 1/8" = 2.7 centimeters wide at the top and 1 7/8" = 4.8 Centimeters at the hinge end. The clasp has an amethyst color stone. Look with a flashlight to see the color. It will not photograph.
