L.N fowler porcelain phrenology 12'' ceramic head Antique off crackle glaze

DETAILED LARGE CERAMIC .PHRENOLOGY HEAD
This is in our opinion one of the best reproductions of L N Fowlers original Phrenology Heads
Hand Made and unlike many on the Market has Readable text and is of a crazed design and not just white Ceramic as reproduced by the mass copies on the market.
An original Phrenology Head from the late 1800s would possibly go for £2000 so this is a great price for a reproduction.
We have also had our Phrenology heads made to the same dimensions as the Original so just under 12" High
This Phrenology head is Packed in a molded Polystyrene to ensure safe shipping

It has been designed to look Antique with the odd imperfection as they were back in the 1800s

This is a Ceramic Reproduction of Phrenology Head by LN Fowler in Crackle Glaze Finish .
The phrenology head was usually seen on the Victorian doctor's desk.
L N Fowler  believed that certain areas in the brain were used for specific functions.
Although phrenology is now considered obsolete, this still remains as a highly interesting artefact and would make an unusual gift. This would look fantastic on a desk in your study or just a great Ornament for anywhere in your Home or Office

L N FOWLER QUOTED THESE WORDS ON THE BACK ON THE HEAD

"For thirty years I have studied Crania and living heads from all parts of the world, and have found in every instance that there is a perfect correspondence between the conformation of the healthy skull of an individual and his known characteristics.
To make my observations available I have prepared a bust of superior form and marked the divisions of the organs in accordance with my researches and varied experience." - L.N. FOWLER.

WHO WAS L N FOWLER ?

Lorenzo Niles Fowler (1811-1896) and his older brother, Orson Squire Fowler (1809-1887) were active proponents of phrenology in the United States and in England. Inscriptions on the base of this ceramic head read in part “PHRENOLOGY / L. N. / FOWLER” and “ENTERED AT / STATIONERS HALL”
