Johnson Brothers was a British tableware manufacturer and exporter founded in 1883 by the grandsons of the famous Meakin pottery family lineage.
It was noted for its early introduction of "semi-porcelain" tableware, a material that appeared like china but was tough and durable (which they called 'White Granite')
It was among the most successful Staffordshire potteries which produced tableware, much of it exported to the United States, from the 1890s through to the 1960s. In 1968, Johnson Brothers joined the Wedgewood Group after it could no longer remain independent, and was finally discontinued in 2015.
