Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais, born January 24, 1732 in Paris where he died May 18, 1799, is a French writer, playwright, musician, businessman. Publisher of Voltaire, he is also at the origin of the first law in favor of copyright and the founder of the Society of Authors. Also a spy and arms dealer on behalf of the king, he is a man of action and combat who never seems helpless in the face of an enemy or adversity. His entire existence is marked by the imprint of the theater and if he is mainly known for his dramatic work, in particular the Figaro trilogy, his life is strangely intertwined with his works.
Pierre-Augustin Caron, born January 24, 17324, is the only son of André-Charles Caron, originally from Meaux, and his wife Louise Pichon.
