We are offering an 1832 Stampless Letter / Postal Cover with a hand-stamped Kingston, Massachusetts postmark.  **NOTE** - there is no postage stamp, as postage stamps were not issued until 1847, but hand-written in the upper left corner is "Free" which we assume meant the postage had been prepaid by the sender.  The letter dated April 9, 1832, is to R. B. Bradford, Kingston, Massachusetts from Bartlett Bradford in Braintree, regarding him owing R. B. $35.  He states he will pay him "$15 now which is all I can get at the present time.  I can let you have some more in the course of two months...."  **NOTE** - As was common during this period, the letter also served as the envelope by folding it a certain way, addressing it, and sealing with a red wax seal.  **CONDITION** - There is some tearing at the spot where the seal was opened, as often happened.
