1926 Gibson L-1 with arched back $4550 plus shipping

Very rare and excellent early Gibson flat-top. Apparently over the first few days of building flat-top guitars Gibson used up some carved backs left over from the arch-top model L-1.
I have owned and worked on a number of these L-1 guitars and this is the cleanest one I’ve seen.
It is also one of the earliest ones based on the FON - 8476, comparing it to all the other ones I’ve had and seen listed.
It is completely original except for a new bone saddle and there are no breaks or cracks (except see below) and only typical player wear. There is a hairline crack in the fingerboard extension that is not a structural issue. I have seen this on other early Gibsons guitars and banjos with the dyed fingerboards.
It has a comfortable “C” shaped neck with a 1 13/16” nut.

Considering the player wear there is almost no fret wear and they also appear to be original. The action is good (see pictures). The tuners work well and show no sign of tarnish but the 4th string tuner shaft is slightly bent - it is minor and does not affect tuning.
There are peculiar marks on the side of the neck (see pictures) which baffle me but are not an issue, just mysterious.

This guitar is priced lower than any 1926 L-1 on the market and is in the nicest condition. Comes with a modern hardshell case that fits it well. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. This guitar is being offered on other platforms and privately so I will cancel the posting immediately if it sells.

Please note well - this listing is sold as-is and not eligible for returns. Please do your due diligence by requesting more photos or asking for an in-hand description over the phone.
