Item up for sale is a spectacular book published in 1904 titled "The Masculine Cross and Ancient Sex Worship" by Sha Rocco. The author's name here was pseudonym purported to have been used by Hargrave Jennings who was a noted British Freemason, Rosicrucian and author on occult and esoteric subjects. This controversial book delves into the connections between sexuality, sexual imagery and symbolism and religion with a focus on Christianity.

Book was published by Commonwealth Company of New York and has 65 numbered pages with a hard cover. Pre title page has a pencil written used book store price. Interior binding shows some wear with the binding still remaining tight. Pages as a whole show yellowing consistent with age with many pages showing foxing / brown spotting. Cover boards and spine show some color fade to the edges and surfaces with surface wear and wear around edges and corners consistent with age and use.
