This plate was produced as part of the collection of Wedgwood Colonial Williamsburg Creamware State Seal Plates. There was a plate produced for each of the original thirteen colonies in celebration of the nation's 1976 bicentennial. The design on the front is based on a Rhode Island state seal in use from 1763 until 1782. There is further information about the Rhode Island seal on the back. The plate measures 9-3/4 inches in diameter.

The plate has been displayed rather than used. There is no evidence of chips, cracks or flaws.
