Malcolm X: Make It Plain is a English language documentary about the life of Malcolm X, or El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz

From his humble beginnings in Omaha, Nebraska to his assassination at the Audubon Ballroom in New York City on February 21, 1965. His compelling story is told through the memories of people who had close personal and working relationships with him.

Prominent figures such as Maya Angelou, Ossie Davis and Alex Haley; Nation of Islam associates, including Wallace D. Muhammad, the son of Elijah Muhammad; and family members, including his wife, Betty Shabazz, and his oldest daughter, Attallah Shabazz.

Included is extensive archival footage of Malcolm X, speaking in his own words at meetings and rallies, and in media interviews.

The documentary is narrated by Alfre Woodard, produced and directed by Orlando Bagwell, written by Steve Fayer and Orlando Bagwell and co-produced by Judy Richardson.

This is archival footage taken from original ¾ inch magnetic broadcast tape. The footage is approaching sixty years old and in some cases is older. There was no HD, no HDMI and televisions were only 18” so this footage looks like it is old and non HD. Some of this footage was not even broadcast but projected on 8mm film stock at schools, etc. If you play this footage on an HD television or on a 70” screen it is not going to look perfect. This footage has been  re-mastered and is amazing for it’s age.
