308 PCS Complete The Boarding of the Chesapeake-Captain Broke, Commander of HBM, Shannon Challenged Captain Lawewnce of the USS Chesapeake to single combat. On June 1st, after a short and bloody conflict, the Shannon took the Chesapeake in sight of Boston Harbour. This victory helped the British salvage some pride in their navy after its poor performance during the war of 1812.
