Wow! The first-ever graded example of this super rare advertising card of the mid-20th Century, featuring one of the all time great Jazz and Scat singers.

1948 Old Gold Cigarettes Ella Fitzgerald (this is an oversize card, with the dimensions of a standard postcard; the holder is about 3.5 x 7 inches in size)

SGC 1, Poor. As I said in the condition description, this card was graded 1 because of the two holes that likely were caused by someone sticking a safety pin through the card, there is a small crease in the upper left corner, there are some surface convolutions, and signs of age in the form of light discoloration here and there.

On the positive side: The gloss is still very apparent on the front, none of the wear really corrupts the beauty of the item and image, the bottom advertising script area is still a pretty bright white, centering is solid, and, it really presents well from normal viewing distances--I think we have all seen some pretty creased, worn, torn, and otherwise damaged cards in third-party grading holders that get grades of 1. This does not have most of those kinds of problems and is, in fact still a really solid and clear card. Please look at the accompanying photos carefully and I suspect you will probably agree with me on these positives.

This is the only example of this card graded by any of the major and reputable grading companies (PSA, SGC, BGS/BVG). Any search online, and on eBay specifically, will demonstrate that there are very few ungraded examples of this being offered in the marketplace. This is a rare chance to own a pioneering card--one that it seems PSA does not even know the existence of because they indicate in their set description that only Jackie Robinson was depicted on these advertising cards for Old Gold cigarettes.
