Addressed “To all Christian
people” by Mary Comyn (?) of Doddinghurst in the County of Essex, Widow, late
wife of Robert Comyn.
This is a settlement made in
anticipation of a marriage between:

the County of Essex, Gent.
Relates to the Grant of a
Croft of land containing 13 acres called Nashwood in Norton Mandeville in the
County of Essex.
CONDITION. Contents
complete. Several tiny pin holes (contents not affected). Otherwise no holes or
tears. Old fold lines. Some marks and darkening to vellum but good condition
for a document of this age. The old style handwriting is a little hard to read
but the ink is generally clear and free of fading. Retains the original vellum
tab but the wax seal is lacking.
